Various organisations, political parties celebrate Republic Day with fervour

Jammu: Enthusiasm marked the 63rd Republic Day celebration  across the Jammu  region on Thursday with various political parties, social organisation  and cultural associations observing the day with gaiety.
Red Cross Society celebrated Republic Day in its premises,  Jugal Mahajan unfurled National Flag. On the occasion speakers advocated on different aspects of Red Cross society and pledged to provide all sort of help to every sufferer/ needy.
Customs and  Central Exercise Commissionerate J and K  celebrated 63rd Republic Day at their Hqrs at OB-32 Rail Head Complex, Jammu on  Thursday.  Commissioner Parminder Singh, IRS hoisted the National Flag.  Superintendent, Asst. Commissioner Harikirpal Khatana, Dy Commissioner M.L Toofan and Addl Commissioner Sanjay Sharan   also addressed the  function.  Parminder stressed upon maintaining  sanctivity  of the Constitution and working with zeal, sincerity, dedication and transparency.  Sanjay highlighted  importance of Republic Day. Toofan recited few poems in Dogri and Punjabi.  The ceremony concluded with community breakfast.
Shalamar Traders Association celebrated  Republic Day with enthusiasm and fervour at Shalamar Park on thursday.  City MLA was the Chief Guest  on the occasion  who also unfurled the National Flag.  Others present on the occasion include Jagmohan Gupta, Pradeep Sharma, Dharminder Mahajan, Ravi Gupta, Ajay Gupta, Satish Mahajan and Ravi Rohmetra.
Dogra Sadar Sabha,  Jammu celebrated Republic Day with national fervour and patriotism . Prominent members of the Sabha gathered at Dogra Sadar Sabha for celebration, Vice President Dr Neel Kanth Dogra hoisted the National Flag.  He congratulated people of J and K State on Republic Day.
Kashap Rajput Sabha  on the occasion of Republic Day held  a function in Sabha’s premises.   President  Vaishno Dutt  Dogra  unfurled National Flag.  In his speech he said at present there is a need of corruption free India. Dogra also unfurled Tri-colour at Qasim Nagar, Bahu Fort, where he endorsed speech of Governor N.N Vohra.
Adarsh Bhartiya Samaj, Bhour Camp, Chatha, Jammu  celebrated Republic Day at its premises where  ex Hav Paras Ram hoisted National Flag on behalf of Samaj.
J and K Human Rights Watch (JKHRW), Janipur Colony celebrated Republic Day on Thursday.  Activists of  JKHRW delivered speeches and threw light on the importance of the day. State Chairman B.L Kapor also highlighted the importance of  the day. Prominent persons  who participated in the function include Amit Kapoor, Monika Gupta, Viney Gupta, Poonam Gupta, Deepak Kapoor, Vikas Bhasin. Jatinder Singh, Raman Choudhary, Dr Rajinder Sharma , Wasim and Priya.
Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jail celebrated  Republic Day with joy and  enthusiasm in which a step towards reformation, community participation was introduced by participation of children of Tiny Tots.  Superintendent Jail   Rajni Sehgal hoisted the National Flag. A Bara Khana was also arranged for jail inmates on the occasion.
Frontier HQ BSF, Jammu  celebrated Republic Day on Thursday at  BSF Stadium Paloura. DIG SHQ BSF, Jammu Hardeep Singh  unfurled the National Flag. Hardeep took Guard of Honour and he recalled the sacrifices of all the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the sake of the nation.  He also remembered contribution of  Jawahar Lal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.  He congratulated all the Jawans  deployed on the borders for remaining vigilant as no infiltration took place this year and a number of such attempts were foiled by brave Jawans.
All Public Health Engineering Employees Welfare Association  organised a colour function on the occasion of Republic Day in their complex at BC Road on Thursday.  Chief Engineer B.R Dogra was Chief Guest who unfurled the Tri-colour. On the occasion he impressed upon  the employees to be devoted and dedicated to the duties assigned and serve the department as well as the general public for peace and prosperity of the country. Provincial President Balwinder Singh stressed the need for maintaining discipline, unity and brotherhood.
Badri Nath Shiv Mandir, Prem Nagar, New Plots  celebrated Republic Day under the banner of Mandir Committee.  Chairman Kapil Dev Sharma, Vice Chairman Piare Lal, President Parshotam Abrol, Vice President Bharat Bhushan Langer and others  hoisted the flag.  Kapil in his address said we should pay tributes to patriots who sacrificed their life for the country and now it is our duty to the honour the Indian Constitution and pay respect to founder of Constitution Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
All J and K PHE Employees Union,  Workers Welfare Association and  J and K PHE Daily Wagers Union, Jammu  celebrated Republic Day under the chairmanship of  Moulvi Muneer Ahmed,  Provincial President B.R Dogra  and  Union President Swarn Kumar  at  Tawi Pumping Station, PHE City Sub Div Dounthli Jammu and  Mahesh Pura Pumping Station  respectively on Thursday.
Jasrotia Welfare Committee celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm on Thursday. National Flag was unfurled and National Anthem was also played.,  The function was attended by  Sub Maj (Retd) B.S Jasrotia, Col (Retd) Uttam Singh, SHO Janipur, Dr Tickoo, Vishnu Jasrotia, Anil Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma, Bahadar Singh, Sansar Singh, Sashi Pal, Vijay Jasortia, Sanjeev Bakshi, Shoba Devi and Meenakshi Devi.
Resident of  Nai Basti, Rampura Jammu  organised a cultural programme on Thursday  at Vijay Park Nai Basti to celebrate Republic Day.  Ex Corporator Pawan Gupta was Chief Guest who along with  Kuldeep Chhetri President Gorkha Sudhar Sabha, Nai Basti, Dr Ramzan  and other prominent citizens hoisted the Tri-colour amidst playing of National Anthem.  Students of Rainbow Public School presented colourful cultural programme on the occasion.  The programme was organised and  anchored by principal of the school.
Ex Corporator,  Ward No 25, Rehari Colony  Usha Chodhary  organised a function at  Sarwal Chowk on Thursday wherein she unfurled the National Flag. While speaking on the occasion she highlighted the importance of the day and impressed upon the gathering to pay tributes to  Martyrs who laid down their lives for freedom of the nation.
She said the Constitution of India was framed by Dr Bhim Rao Ambdedkar which came into existence on this day ie 26th January 1950.  prominent members who attended the function-Sanjay Singh,  CMO Sarwal Hospital Arun  Sharma, SHO Sarwal Police Station, ex Corporator Rajinder Gupta, Rajesh Choudhary and others.
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Deemed University  Sri Ranbir Campus, Kot Bhalwal Jammu   organised Repulic Day function on  Thursday at its premises.  The flag was unfurled by Prof Yash Paul Khajuria.  On the occasion he highlighted importance of the day and rights and  duties of individual.  He also impressed upon performing the same religiously and also stressed on  language, culture and heritage  of the State to maintain it properly.
Ex Corporator Rehari Colony  Arun Khanna in a function organized by residents hoisted the National Flag at Hari Mandir Chowk on Thursday.  An impressive function was also organised in which patriotic songs, folk songs and dances were presented by the children. A large gathering attended the function.  Some  renowned poets  like M.S Karma and others also recited their patriotic poets on the occasion.
Shri Gandhi Sewa Sadan, MP Unit Shama Chak, Jammu  celebrated Republic Day at its premises. A grand function was organised by Sr Manager Ashok Dixit who was also Chief Guest.  He hoisted National Flag. Addressing  audience, he impressed upon all to work as per the  directions of Constitution  of India and also protect it.  Other prominent persons present on the occasion include Ramesh Kumar, Raju. Rajinder Sharma, Narinder and many freedom fighters.
Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust  organised Republic Day function at its Hqrs Mishri Wala on Thursday. Sarpanch  Vachan Singh was Chief Guest and Ashok Dixit presided over the function. Dixit  also presented patriotic songs on the occasion.  He also thanked all guest.   P.L Joshi member Kasturba Gandhi Family thanked all guests and audience. On the occasion Bhartiya Siksha Kendra students presented cultural programme which was directed by Sunita Gupta and Swarn Lata Manhas.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), Jagti Township Nagrota   hoisted National Flag at the township and pledged to work for integrity, unity, peace and prosperity of the nation. They also paid rich tributes to those who laid down their lives for national cause. The function was organised and attended by Kaka Ji Bhan, A.K Tikoo, Ashok Kumar Sumbli, Ashok Kumar Reshi, Subhash Ji Razdhan. Tej Krishan Dhar, Kundan Lal Bhat and other members of KPC,
Similar function was also held at Dwaraka, New Delhi on Thursday under the leadership of Kundan Kashmiri,  KPC Chief, who  appealed to national political leaders  to restore the basic and constitutional rights of KPs and treat them at par with other citizens of India.
PDP State Secretary Choudhary Hussain Ali Wafa on Thursday unfurled the National Flag in village Langer, Kunjwani on the occasion of 263rd Republic Day amid large number of villagers including men, women and children. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Capt (Retd) Anil Gour, Suresh Sharma, Ashok Bhat, Sunil Bhat, Lavish Social and Educational Trust, New Rehari celebrated  Republic Day  with great fervour and enthusiasm. Chairman  Vinod Pandit  explained in detail the importance of the day and also paid rich tributes to Martyrs who laid down their lives for  the cause of mother land. Others who also attended the function include Seema Gupta, Pawan Kumar, Sunita, Avinash Bhat and  Archana Sharma.
All  J and K Christian Forum celebrated Republic Day at Amphalla Chowk. State President Markes Gill unfurled the National Flag followed by National Anthem. Others who attended the function include   Isaac Bhatti, Darshan Masih, Manga Masih, Guffur Masih, Yash Sotra, Ch Mohan Masih, Rahul Gill, Vinay Sotra, Anil Matto, Qurnelius Gill, Daniel Sotra, Benjamin Sotra, Romesh Pappu, Rajinder Kumar, Sonu Bhatti, John Talib, Haroon Gill and  Raju Sotra.
Indian National Trade Union Congress  celebrated Republic Day at Compnay Bagh in which all officers, workers and ministerial staff were present. CE B.R Dogra  hoisted the flag. He  highlighted the importance of the day and urged the employees and workers to work dedicatedly and honestly.
PHE Department Drivers, Cleaners  Union  organised a colourful programme on  Thursday.  CE B.R
Unfurled the National Flag. He appreciated  officers  and employees for performing their essential duties with full dedication and assured employees to fulfill their genuine demands  and issues as early as possible.
JK SRTC celebrated Republic Day with enthusiasm. The Tri-colour was hoisted by Managing Director I.S Tandon at its HQrs, Bikram Chowk who also issued eighteen commendation certificates  to employees  who performed their duties with dedication. Tandon also lauded the employees and impressed upon them to work hard and said such commendation cards will be issued to deserving employees every year.
Tawi Welfare Society celebrated Republic Day in Apna Van at village Sure Chak on Thursday,  The National Flag was hoisted by Kavi Raj. On the occasion members of the society pledged for contribution for development of the area and maximum help to needy and down trodden people of the society.
Mahatma Gandhi Intellectual’s Society  celebrated Republic Day with full fervour and enthusiasm along with its members and volunteers by hoisting  the flag, distributing sweets and stationery items to students.  President Kuldeep Raj Gupta hoisted the flag at Satwari Chowk.  He  highlighted    greatness of Mahatma Gandhi and his sacrifices for the nation and described him as a  tall personality and a rare incarnation on this earth.
Office of Superintendent Sub Jail Reasi  celebrated  Republic Day with joy and enthusiasm. National Flag was hoisted by Superintendent Bushan Lal Bali on Thursday. Importance of this day was briefed to jail staff and inmates, A  cultural programme was also held which was followed by Bara Khana.
J and K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) celebrated the day in all its District and Block Hqrs on Thursday. Main function was held at PCC HQ where Om  Chopra,  ex MLA  and President District Congress Committee hoisted the National Flag in presence of functionaries of PCC, DCC, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, Seva Dal, INTUC and people from all sections of society. While speaking on the occasion, he recalled the sacrifices of great leaders and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to liberate India from foreign rule. He also recalled leaders like Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, who sacrificed their lives for unity and integrity of the country. Others who attended the function include  Former Dy CM Pt Mangat Ram Sharma, Janak Raj Gupta ex MP, Ch Lal Mohd Sabir former Minister, K.L Abrol, D. S Langeh, Inder Sehgal, Rajiv Gupta, Mian Nazir, Madan Lal Malagar, Mansa Ram, S Jaswant Singh, V.K Sethi, Gurdarshan Singh, Mohd Saleem Khan, Ch Sukhdev, S. S Shingari, Lalita Sharma, Padmini Langeh, Raj Bakshi, Sita Devi, Kamlesh Basih, Kiran Bala and Tamanna.
Similarly, a colourful function was held at Sunderbani to celebrate Republic Day where Ravinder Sharma MLC hoisted National Flag. He highlighted the importance of celebrating this day and also recalled sacrifices of great leaders of the nation who sacrificed their lives to liberate India from foreign rule. He also said  that RTI is  the biggest tool provided to people by  UPA Government to fight corruption at all levels and to bring transparency in the system.
JK PCC (I) also organised a flag hoisting ceremony at Bakshi Nagar on the occasion of  Republic Day.   Secretary PCC J and K Anil Chopra hoisted the flag.  Chopra  while  congratulating people on this occasion,  also appealed to people to maintain century old tradition of brotherhood and communal harmony.  He  warned them not to fall prey to communal forces who are bent upon to shatter the social  fabric of the society.  A large number of people attended the function.Kulwant Singh and others.
J and K National Conference celebrated Republic Day on Thursday at  Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan.   Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President hoisted the Tri-colour. A large number of NC workers and prominent leaders were present on this occasion. While addressing the gathering, Gupta remembered the services of national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, B.R Ambedkar and Sher-e-Kashmiri  late Sheikh Mohd Abdulllah who fought long war against  British rule and achieved independence in 1947 and the process of Indian Constitution which was adopted in 1950.
Gupta also referred to achievements of the nation since independence that besides  development in every field, the nation is self sufficient in food, science amd technology, agriculture and defence.  He called upon youth to come forward and take part in developmental activities to build  a good nation.  He also highlighted  achievements of Coalition Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the State adding that a new era of developmental activities has taken place  in the  State. Gupta hoisted Tri-colour at Residency Road and R.S Pura which were organised by Christian Welfare Association and T.S Tony.
Prominent leaders present on the occasion include Ajay Sadhotra MLC, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Jugal Mahajan, Bimla Luthra MLA, Luxami Dutta, Ch Haroon, Ayub Malik, Pardeep Bali, Reeta Gupta, Dilshad Malik, Manveer Kour, M.L  Munshi, Rakesh Singh Raka, Leela Jamwal, Veena Oberoi, Satpal Lokotra, Sandeep Singh Jamwal, Joginder Kour, Uma Jamwal, Daljeet Sharma, Dr Dhang, Sain Dass, Shyam Mehra, Sadeep Malik, Mohsin Salaria, Farman Ali, Waris Gill, Master Saleem, S Peter and Vinod Tak.
The 63rd Republic Day was celebrated at Sarwal under aegis of Mirpur Mahajan Sabha, Jammu. The function was presided over by Amar Chand Gupta, President, Ved Mandir apart from the members of community, a large of ex-servicemen and members of other communities also graced the occasion.
After unfurling the Tricolour, the National Anthem was played. The Chairman highlighted the achievements made during the post independence era and paid floral tributes to the martyrs. The participants resolved to dedicate themselves to the service of State and country. The students of Shiksha Bhawan  Higher Secondary School, Bakshi Nagar, Sai  Montessori School, Tali Morh, New Era Public School, Lakshmi Nagar, Jammu Public School, New Plots, Spring Blossom, Bakshi Nagar, DRS Kids and Ankur Vidyalaya presented a cultural bonanza which won admiration  from one and all.
The trophies and mementos were also presented to the VIP’s and the students by Sanjay Gupta, President of Mirpur Mahajan Sabha.
The function concluded with the lunch for participants and students.
63rd Republic Day was celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm in Sainik Colony. The National Flag was unfurled by Congress leader and ex Corporator Namrta Sharma in presence of large number of prominent citizen of the area. Namrta said that “we have world’s finest constitution and we are trying to hold it high in letter and in spirit”. She greeted the people and said that we work to strengthen the soveirgenity and integrity of India. She said that India’s largest democracy of the world is progressing every day.
Republic Day was celebrated by Chamber House where good number of members were present. The Tricolour was hoisted by President Y.V Sharma there after National Anthem was sung. Members were very enthusiastic. Sharma spoke about the importance of Republic Day.
An impressive function was held by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in the Town Hall premises to celebrate 63rd Republic Day. The Commissioner S.C Sawhney presided over the function. The National Flag was hoisted and unfurled by the commissioner. The Joint Commissioner (A), Secretary, Health Officer, Chief Accounts Officer, Assistant Commissioner (R), Chief Enforcement Officer, Executive Engineer, Chief Transport Officer, Senior Officers and staff were present on this occasion. In his address he extended heartiest greetings to all the countrymen especially to the people of Jammu and Kashmir State. The commissioner also felicitated the officials of JMC for their commendable services rendered in the city during the period.
Shri Ram Sena Jammu-Kashmir celebrated Republic Day with a great patriotic and nationalist zeal at Dewan Mandir ground Pacca Danga here. Shri Ram Sena State President Rajiv Mahajan unfurled the National Flag followed by National Anthem. A large number of Sena activists and locals attended the function.
Others present on the occasion-Bal Krishan Arora, Rajinder Gupta, Ajay Gupta, Anil Chopra, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Parul Gupta, Pawan Choudhary and Vijay Gupta.
Pahalwans Food Mall, Baribrahmana Jammu, celebrated Republic Day in their premises. Satpal Abrol gave best wishes to all persons of J and K on the occasion of 63rd Republic Day.
He said, “Let us all join hands to take J and K to new heights of prosperity and peace. While keeping pace with the fast changing world, we must feel ourselves in our roots and not get astray from the glorious values”.
The Republic Day-2012 was celebrated with full fervour and enthusiasm by Mahatma Gandhi Intellectual’s Society along with its members and volunteers by hoisting the National Flag and distribution of sweets and stationery items to the students participated who during the function.
Mahashya Kuldeep Raj Gupta (Bitta) President of the Mahatma Gandhi Intellectual’s Society, Gandhi Statue, Gandhi Chowk, Satwari, Jammu Cantt hoisted the National Flag and addressed the large gathering about the greatness of Mahatma Gandhi and his sacrifice for the nation, describing Bapu ji as a tall personality and rare incarnation on this earth.
