UCFI starts selection trials for players

JAMMU: State President Youth Congress J and K, Shahnawaz Choudhary declared selection trials for the selection of players from Jammu Division started by playing the very first short of the cricket at MAM college ground, here on Wednesday. The selection trials were conducted by United Cricket Federation of India (UCFI) who launched the First J and K T20 Championship which will start in next month.
Shahnawaz Choudhary was Chief Guest while Chairman Media Committee JKCA, Ranjeet Kalra was the Guest of Honour who bowled the first bowl.
More than 500 candidates from Jammu, Samba and Akhnoor area had participated in the trials. In the next part, UCFI will conduct trails in Kashmir Valley where registration of players is going on.
Approximately 200 teams will participate in this championship across the State. The registration for the championship for the club is open till 25th May, 2013.
The President of UCFI, Safeer Ahmed assured that each and every hidden talent in State will get right opportunity for showing their talent and achieve their goals. He also announced the date of opening ceremony match of the first J and K T20 Championship on 16th June 2013 at MA Stadium Jammu between Jammu province and Kashmir province teams.
He said  attractive prizes would be awarded to  teams and individual players viz Winner team  would get Rs 3 lakh, Runners up  Rs 1.5 lakh, Man of Series and top scorers of tournament would get a bike each. Top wickets taker would get Laptop, Maximum sixer hitter would get  LCD TV, Maximum catch player, best wicket keeper and best fielder would get smart phone each, best captain would be presented a laptop.
Zaffar Iqbal, Vice president said that in the history of cricket it is a biggest event in J and K State in whihch players from every part of the state would participate.
The Secretary UCFI, Zaheer Choudhary ensured that championship will be executed on the basis of ground work and will restrict the involvement of communalism and politics.
