RAMBAN: Continuing its campaign for MLC election in Ramban, National Panthers Party (NPP) district unit under the leadership of Distt President Ramban Suraj Singh Parihar and senior leader NPP Sewa Singh Bali organised public meetings at various places in district Ramban including Batote, Chanderkote, Ramban and Ukhral. The public meetings were attended by several Sarpanchs, Panchs besides the local people and addressed by senior party leaders Harsh Dev Singh and Balwant Singh Mankotia.
Addressing the public meetings at different places Harsh Dev Singh lambasted the Coalition Ministers for large scale violation of Model Code Conduct besides other laws and for abuse of the Govt. machinery for promotion of the electoral prospects of their candidates in the ongoing MLC elections. He said that the ruling coalition is fully aware of the facts that it was on a weak wicket in the said election and was therefore resorting to unfair means and other irregular practices, he appealed to the Election Commission to take cognisance of the abuse of the unfair practices and abuse of position, authority and Govt. machinery by the Coalition Ministers.
He flayed the ruling ministers in particular for generating false hopes and for giving deceptive slogans and promises of providing remuneration and insurance cover to the Panchyat members. He said that if the Govt was sincere on the issue, it should have provided the facilities during the last two years and immediately after the constitution of Panchyats.
Balwant Singh Mankotia said that Distt status to Ramban is a gift of National Panthers Party adding that the creation of additional administrative units including new Distt and Tehsils was included in the coalition manifesto in 2002 at the behest of Panthers Party. He said that Ramban Degree College is another gift of Panthers Party to the people of Ramban. Expressing grave concern over the poor road connectivity in Ramban Distt , he assured the people that the issue would be forcefully raised in that assembly. He also appealed to the Sarpanchs and Panchs of Ramban Distt to vote for Panthers Party candidates in the MLC elections.
On the occasion hundreds of Panchs and Sarpanchs joined Panthers Party and assured to work to ensure the victory of NPP candidates.
Others prominent persons who spoke on the occasion include Mohammad Rafiq Chandel, Candidate MLC election, Suraj Singh Parihar, District President, Sewa Singh Bali Sr. leader of NPP, Sarpanch Ranjeet Singh Block President Ramsoo, Sarpanch Nasir Ali, Sarpanch Mushtaq Ali, Sarpanch Romal Singh Sarpanch Hoshiar Singh, Ex-Sarpanch Chuni Lal, Mudessar Ali, Girdhari Lal, Runial, Shakil Wani and Yashpal.
POONCH: Strong rallies of the Sarpanchs and the Panchs were held in Surankote, Poonch and Mendhar on Tuesday. Panchs and Sarpanchs in hundreds pledged to support Panthers Party candidates namely, Anita Thakur and Mohammad Rafiq Chandel in Jammu Pradesh in the Panchayat elections for Legislative Council.
Sarpanch and District President of Poonch Panchayat Empowerment Committee, Ashfaq Raina declared in Surankote rally that Panchs and Sarpanchs shall support Panthers Party candidates to defeat authoritarian, corrupt and anti-Jammu Pradesh parties like Congress, National Conference and others.
In Poonch, the Panchs and Sarpanchs accused Congress and NC Government for the miseries and the sufferings of the people living in the border areas. The meeting was presided over by Chaman Lal Sharma, Advocate, who is District President of JKNPP also. The meeting of the Sarpanchs and Panchs at Mendhar along LoC was presided over by Sarpanch Naseem Khan. Sarpanch Habibullah, President of Mendhar Panchayat Empowerment Committee congratulated the Panthers Party for their manifesto which has promised full empowerment of the Panchayats in their manifesto. He also thanked Prof. Bhim Singh for promising to include ST status to the Pahari fraternity. He described Prof. Bhim Singh as the great friend of Iraqi President, Saddam Hussein and Palestinian Hero, Yasir Arafat.
More than 30 Panchs and Sarpanchs joined Panthers Party’s campaign.
Political Secretary of NPP Sudesh Dogra, appealed to the Panchs and the Sarpanchs, particularly, the women members of the Panchayats to vote the Panthers Party candidates, Anita Thakur and Mohammad Rafiq Chandel as both have fighting spirit to accomplish the agenda of Prof. Bhim Singh and the party for reorganisation of J and K.
The Panthers Party’s candidate, Anita Thakur in her forceful speech accused NC-Congress alliance government for betraying the Panchayats, deny the Panchayat their basic constitutional rights and exploiting them in the MLC election. She promised that she will fight for the empowerment of the Panchayat if given chance to represent them in the Legislative Council.
Prof. Bhim Singh made strong appeal to the Sarpanchs and the Panchs to vote for the Panthers Party’s candidates, Anita Thakur and Mohammad Rafiq Chandel so that the Panthers Party is empowered to empower the Panchayats in J and K.
