NEW DELHI: In pursuance to Direct Cash Transfer (DCT) Scheme , introduced by the Government of India for transfer of subsidies, payments related to MGNREGA ,scholarships directly in the accounts of the beneficiaries , Punjab and Sind Bank has launched special campaign to felicitate implementation of the Scheme using Aadhaar platform.
While stressing on successful implementation of the scheme, Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank, D.P.Singh stated that the bank is all set to organise extensive campaigning and special camps with effect from 8th December, 2012, in districts allotted to the bank for opening of one family one account while aiming at opening of as many bank accounts as possible.
He added that the bank has been allotted Ward No.38 Mangolpuri, North in Delhi for DCT Scheme and that the bank shall aim at capturing all Aadhaar numbers of all the existing and newly opened accounts in this district.
Bank accounts will be opened the same day and will be activated by linking to Aadhar (Unique ID) as soon as Aaadhar cards are issued, he said and informed that the account opening form shall be a simple half page form and the opening thereof with the bank shall entail zero formalities/documentation. The account shall entail issuance of Rupay (ATM) card and passbook. Singh also informed that the bank shall be holding four camps at Mangolpuri besides holding camps at New Ranjit Nagar, Madanpur Khadar, Malka Ganj Khanpur, Madangir, Tagore Garden and Vishnu Garden from 8th December, 2012 onwards.
