JU Entrance results today 35 pc pass BA/BSc/BCom/ BBA/BCA Part-I exams

JAMMU: As against a target time of 45 days, University of Jammu declared the annual results of three-year degree (general) course of BA/BSc/BCom/BBA/BCA Part-I examinations in a record time of 44 days with a pass percentage of 35 per cent.
Out of a total of 26712 students appearing for the examination, 9,547 emerged successful thereby making it an aggregate 35 per cent result.
As per the figures, the number of students, who have been declared re-appear is higher than those who failed candidates.
Meanwhile, the wait is over for thousands of students seeking admission in various Post Graduate courses of University of Jammu with the declaration of results of the Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) tomorrow.
Now, the students can down load their marks cards from JU website to have a glimpse of their merit. However, the minimum cut-off marks of the JUET (out of 70) for admission to various programmes are 21 for general and 17 for other categories of SC/ST.
The final merit of a candidate out of 100 shall be calculated by giving a weightage of 70 i.e. marks obtained in the Entrance Test. A weightage of 30 to the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination shall be calculated by giving the weightage of 10 per cent each to the percentage of marks in Part I, II and III separately.
For admission to the programmes like M.Ed/M.P.Ed/M.Lib.I.Sc/ B.A LL.B (5 year)/B.B.A (HM)/ Honours Courses etc the weightage of 30 to the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination shall be accorded so as to calculate the academic merit of the candidate.
As per a JU handout, the admission form shall be available exclusively on JU website from tomorrow. Accordingly, the students have been advised to download the forms for applying to the concerned departments.  The admission to University Campus and affiliated colleges shall be done by the specified Nodal Departments.The last date to receive admission form, complete in all respects, is July nine. Candidates can submit their forms up to July 11 but with a late fee of Rs 60. It will be followed by the start of the normal class work for first semester from 19th July.
