Ex railway minster holds PM responsible for Coalgate scam

BARRACKPORE: Former Railway minister and All India Trinamool Congress General Secretary Mukul Roy on Sunday accused Dr Manmohan Singh of being involved in Coalgate scam as the Prime Minsiter had signed files relating to release of coal block quota’s amongst the kins of the congressmen.
Addressing a Trinaool Youth Congress rally,  Roy claimed that the Coalgate scam that incurred a huge loss in the state ex-chequer was possible due to Dr Moanmohan Singh, who had signed the related files and not the other ministers like Jaiprakash Jaisawal and Subodh Kanta Sahay.
Even, the man like Jaipal Reddy was removed from his ministry once on the pressure of an industrialist, former Railway minister observed.
While the Trinamool Youth Congress in North 24 Parganas organised the rally in protest against allowing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the retail trading market of the country and withdrawal of subsidies from fertilizers, diesel, petroleum and cooking gas by the UPA-II government at the centre and to oppose the propaganda of the CPI(M) against the one and half year old TMC government in the state.
The AITMC secretary while lambasting the corruption prone Congress led government and the party alleged, they were trying to sell out the country.
Roy also criticised the Centre for not disclosing the names of the Indian account holders, who had trashed huge money in the Swiss banks.
“Once it was disclosed, several congress leaders would be in trouble,” he said.
The West Bengal TMC youth president and MP Subhendu Adhikary, State food Minister and party’s district Jyotipriya Mallick and distirct Trinamool youth congress president Silbhadra Dutta, among others spoke on the occasion.
