JAMMU: Adding one more event in Drug Abuse campaign started on 21st June, 2010 by Directorate of Social Welfare Department Jammu, in collaboration with JK Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (Mashwara Drug De-addiction Centre), a National NGO, on Wednesday organised drawing/poster competition in Ved Mandir, a Orphanage in Amphalla.
On the occasion, Mahmud Rana, Director Social Welfare, Jammu was the Chief Guest.
In the drawing competition children from 6 to 15 years of age participated. The theme of the drawing competition was Drug Addiction and its Ill Effects. The children participated with full interest and spirit.
They drew posters having messages on ill effects of drugs. Officers from Directorate like Deputy Director, Assistant Director and District Social Welfare Officer were also present on the occasion. Director Social Welfare, Jammu distributed prize to the talented children who showed their talent in the form of drawing and conveyed the message of ill effects of drugs to the masses through their posters.
The inmates of Ved Mandir presented cultural programme with full spirit and enthusiasm.
District Social Welfare Officer, Jammu, Atul concluded the programme with vote of thanks.
