Awareness programmes to mark International Volunteers Day
POONCH: To create life changing experiences for volunteers all over country, Information Tech National Dev Youth and Family Welfare in coordination with J and K Government and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Govt of India organised various programmes in the State by providing hands-on assistance and training to expand our women’s skills and grow the organisation.
A symposium regarding awareness on the ‘Value of Education’ was organised by Information Tech National Development Youth (ITNDY) and Family Welfare (FW) Club Poonch in collaboration with Public Peace and Development Foundation Poonch to observe International Volunteers Day (IVD).
Thousands of volunteers and Youth Club members involved in a range of IVD initiatives including clean-up campaigns, conferences, exhibitions, morning teas and many other activities aimed to highlight the role of volunteers in their communities.
Director Information Technology National Institute of Research and Development was the Chief Guest. The programme was presided over by President, Public Peace and Dev. Foundation Poonch Muzaffer Ahmed.
Besides the District Administration Poonch about two hundred Youth Clubs members, NYC and NSS volunteers and students from different institution were present.
Talking on the occasion, President/Chief Functionary, Information Tech National Dev Youth and Family Welfare, Er. Mohammed Shafiq Shabnam highlighted the importance of youth in national development. He appealed to the volunteers to contribute their services for national development. General Secretary Public Peace and Development, Prof. Tahir Naaz Mughal also explained the importance of good character, discipline and social service in self-development and the development of society. He presented a power point presentation on the theme of National Integration.
The volunteers presented a group song ‘Furaz Nabiho’ in the programme. The volunteers also made posters on the theme of National Integration. The volunteers put up posters in various places of the institute and club to create mass awareness about the National Integration among the volunteers and students of the institute.
The day was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm assimilating the colours of national integration and social service. Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the volunteers.
107th Birth Anniversary of National Conference Founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah was also observed. Er Mohammed Shafiq Shabnam also paid glowing tributes to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on his Birth Anniversary.
In a message Chief recalled Sheikh Abdullah’s important contribution towards the all round development of the State, adding that he was among the tallest leaders of his time in the country, who worked with eminent leaders, like Mahatma Gandhi and Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru for strengthening the values of secularism and democracy which helped in placing the State on the path of growth and development. Vote of thanks was presented by Muzaffer Ahmed. He exhorted upon female audience that female section of society has a positive role in altering the thinking of male population. Secretary President National Rural Dev YC Mendhar Mohammad Araf, Director, Global College of IT Anil Sharma, President, Community Development Youth Club Shiendra Mohammad Shafiq and Secretary ITNDY and FW Sankit Verma were also present.
