Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony held at JK Public School Kunjwani

JAMMU: Educational innovations certainly do not come about automatically. They have to be invented, planned, initiated and implemented in a way that will make educational practice adequately geared towards success and the annual prize distribution function was the revelation of this success. The distinguished guests on the occasion were Ghulam Mohammad Saroori. The Minister for Roads and Buildings J and K and Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma the Minister of State who lauded the students for their brilliant performance on stage and congratulated the achievers and their parents for the achievements in the academic arena in the session 2009-10. He congratulated the management of the school for having provided a platform for the students in the academic as well as the co-curricular arena so as to nurture the students into well rounded individuals and leaders who excel in whatever they choose to do with a great sense of values. It is important for all the teachers and parents alike to look together at the opportunity that the road to holistic education provides. “Let us go ahead, firm in our resolve and steadfast in our commitment to make a difference in the lives of our children”, he emphasised.  The grand function which was held at the Nelsum Exquisite Millennium Hall in the school campus started with the lighting of lamp by the distinguished guests for the evening. This was followed by the welcome speech by Principal Anita Bhatia, in  her speech she stated that JK Public School stood as an autonomous educational institution with a broad result oriented curriculum which aims to meet the present day requirement of the student community and refining them for the upcoming competition and challenges. She emphasised that the school is passionate about the needs of its students and this thought drives it to work with the best talent and give them an environment conducive to their needs and overall growth.  A plethora of colourful events were presented ranging from Kaal Belia to the Tandav Dance where the students resplendent in their colourful attires displayed skill and dexterity in balancing fire lit earthern pots and completely enthralled the audience. A comic political satire in the form of a skit made the entire audience break into peals of laughter and the school musical orchestra presented a symphony of the guitar, keyboard, the drums accompanied by the melodious renditions of the school Musical Choir. The School Marching band impeccably dressed in their distinctive trimmings and accessories with their drums, pipes and cymbals had the entire gathering completely mesmerised.   The Guests of Honour handed over the trophies to the meritorious students from each section of the session 2009-10. A special prize was awarded to Pallav Gupta for dominating the skating events by participating in eight National Skating Championship in succession and for being appointed the captain of the State Hockey Skating team. Environmental initiatives taken up by the school Eco- club were highlighted by Sahil Anand and Shubham Kundal who emphasised that the Eco-club centered on raising environmental consciousness thereby striving to slow and ultimately reverse the deterioration of Planet Earth. The Chairman of the school Raj Daluja felicitated Guests of Honour with a Memento as a token of remembrance.
The Vice Principal Sangeeta Sharma proposed the vote of thanks where in she thanked all those who had contributed to the grand success of the function. The entire Programme was coordinated by the Coordinator of the School Sandhya Sharma. The vision of the school founder to provide quality education that would enable each child to excel in his/her chosen field was translated into a reality in the Prize Distribution Function.
